Kapamilya actor Paulo Avelino revealed that former Kapuso actress Janine Guitierrez is the ‘newest Kapamilya.’ The actor made the revelation in response to a question regarding the leading lady of his upcoming movie, Ngayon Kaya.
According to an article by ABS-CBN, Ngayon Kaya was supposed to debut in April 2020 as a part of the inaugural Metro Manila Summer Film Festival (Summer MMFF). However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it didn’t push through.
The said movie was directed by Prime Cruz who also directed Isa Pa with Feelings. The movie stars Paulo Avelino and Janine Gutierrez.
It was also reported that four of the eight movie entries in the Summer MMFF decided to premiere within the same year as they joined the Christmas festival MMFF.
Paulo’s movie Ngayon Kaya was not an entry for the Christmas MMFF which had fans and supporters asking when they will be able to watch the movie.
The actor said that it will be released around March or May which will likely be one of the entries for the 2021 Summer MMFF.
“That’s coming out hopefully March or May,” he said.
The 32-year-old actor made the revelation during his media conference for his recent film Fan Girl which won most of the major awards in the 2020 MMFF.
With regards to his co-star for Ngayon Kaya, Paulo said, “It’s with our newest Kapamilya, Janine Gutierrez.”
Paulo’s statement hinted at Janine’s transfer to the ABS-CBN network although both the actress and the Kapamilya network didn’t give an official announcement yet.
Janine was previously with GMA Network for nine long years, before becoming a freelance artist when the network didn’t renew her contract.
The actress previously had a dinner meeting Dreamscape, together with her manager Leo Dominguez who is also Paulo’s manager.
Meanwhile, Paulo Avelino will not only be starring in the upcoming film Ngayon Kaya as it was reported that he also co-produced the film with WASD Films and T-Rex Entertainment.
The movie will follow the story of Harold (Avelino), a shy college student from the province who develops a close bond and a secret love for his friend AM (Janine Gutierrez), a rich city girl who is passionate about her dreams.
