Papa Jackson, or John Gemperle in real life, has been one of Philippine radio’s best gifts. With his soothing voice and sagely advice on seemingly all things under the sun, the man once known as Papa Jack (still hard to let go of the name, even after 3 years) is still loved by avid listeners.
He’s gone from being a simple radio show host to now being the station manager for 106.7 Energy FM. How? By increasing the station’s listeners.
His longest endearing factor, however, is how he looks at life and the nuggets of wisdom he gives out on air—all for free.
He’s helped some of us go through our life’s toughest situations, and it shows. He’s been loved by the public for many years, and has earned Favorite DJ awards throughout his career.
He’s also been a part of the academe at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, helping mold future communicators through his experience as a radio DJ.
Papa Jackson’s impact can be felt not just by listening to his shows, but to the station he now leads: 106.7 Energy FM.
