Aside from politicians, lawyers and judges have also died in the string of killings in the country only last November.
On November 11, Manila RTC Judge Ma Theresa Abadilla was shot dead inside her courtroom by her clerk.
A week later in Palawan, lawyer Eric Jay Magcamit was shot in broad daylight en route to his hearing in Quezon, Palawan.
In the following week, on November 23, another lawyer was shot dead this time in Cebu City.
Atty. Joey Luis Wee was gunned down by 2 unidentified men on his way to his office in Kasambagan, Cebu City.
Meanwhile, aside from those killed, another case that is currently getting media attention is the disappearance of UP Law Professor and DOT Liason Chief Atty. Ryan Oliva.
Oliva has been missing since November 21 after leaving their house in Quezon City for Nasugbu, Batangas.
His fraternity Alpha Phi Beta has already offered a 100,000 pesos reward to those who can give information on the whereabouts of Oliva.
Meanwhile, several netizens also shared Bituins’s observation about the recent killings in the country is causing them to be afraid for their safety.

“Sa loob pa ng municipal hall pinatay ang mayor ng Los Baños! It’s alarming that people like gov’t officials, lawyers and judges — who uphold current laws and perform the ‘most legal’ of all activities — can get killed like this. End the culture of impunity!” @iamRaoulManuel
