In an Instagram story, Julia Barretto invited rumored boyfriend Gerald Anderson to watch their 2019 film Between Maybes.
The said film was recently made available on the content platform Netflix and Julia promoted it by posting on her Instagram account.
On Wednesday, December 2, the 23-year-old actress shared a poster of the Between Maybes film and even tagged her co-star Gerald.
“Tara? @andersongeraldjr,” she wrote on her IG story.
Despite dating rumors between them, Julia still tagged Gerald to which the actor responded by accepting the invitation of Julia.
“Tara…” he wrote in his Instagram story.
While many people speculated that it was just their strategy to promote their film to Netflix, other netizens said that the two are already a couple and were just hiding it for the sake of their careers.
The dating rumors between them started after they starred in the film Between Maybes back when Gerald was still in a relationship with actress Bea Alonzo. The two later broke up and there have been speculations that the actor had an affair with Julia.
Julia, on the other hand, was in a relationship with actor Joshua Garcia at the time.
There have been several sightings of Julia and Gerald together outside of their work but the two continued to deny their dating rumors.
Netizens were also quick to notice that Julia seemed to have stayed in Gerald’s resort in Zambales amid the rumors about them.
On Instagram, Julia shared a photo that showed her smelling flowers at a resort with a cottage in the background.
A fan page on Facebook noticed its similarity to Gerald’s photo in his Instagram Story. Gerald promoted his resort in Zambales named Hayati private resort with a photo showing a similar cottage seen in Julia’s post.
However, Julia clarified that she is not in a relationship with Gerald in one of her interview with ABS-CBN news.
“Hindi ko siya naging boyfriend and hindi ko siya boyfriend ngayon. Therefore, wala akong inagawan ng boyfriend, wala akong inahas, at saka wala din akong nilandi,” Julia stated.
Gerald also gave his answer regarding the real score between him and Julia when he was asked by an entertainment reporter in his previous press con.
“Siguro unang-una, ayoko na rin pag-usapan ang isang taong wala naman din dito. Walang koneksiyon sa ginagawa natin ngayon,” he said.
“Respeto na rin po siguro sa kanila. Labas po tayo diyan…” he added.
