The non-renewal of the ABS-CBN franchise turned the world of most artists upside-down as some of them lost their jobs.
Pooh was one of the Kapamilya artists who were left with no choice but to transfer to another network to pursue their careers.
The comedian was asked why he left the network which paved the way for him to become famous.
He said, “Nagugutom din ako” and explained that he needs to sustain and support his family. He also thanked those people who understand and respect his decision to transfer to another network.
Pooh has the same reason as Billy Crawford, who shifted to TV5 and is currently hosting the TV Philippine adaption of The Masked Singer.
Crawford assured that he will remain as a “Kapamilya Forever” and he is doing this for his family. To recall, his wife Coleen Garcia gave birth to their first child last September 10, a bigger reason he needs to work harder.
ABS-CBN easily allowed artists who wish to shift to another network to do so.
President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Carlo Katigbak thanked these artists for their service to the Kapamilya network.
Knowing that their talents receive offers from other networks, Director Laurenti Dyogi sees this as a compliment as this is proof that ABS-CBN artists are prime and sought-after.
Pooh or Jay Patrick Roquero in real life, is an impersonator of the boxing champion Manny Pacquiao. He was reached his breakthrough in his career through ABS-CBN with the gag show Banana Split.
Currently, he is one of the cast members of the TV5 dram-com series, Stay-in Love.
