ABS-CBN and GMA Network, the two biggest media giants in the country, are now preparing for their Christmas Station IDs (SID).
Every network’s SID is one of the most awaited during the Christmas season here in the Philippines.It has been a tradition of ABS-CBN and GMA network to produce heartwarming and stunning station IDs every year.
ABS-CBN Head of Creative Communication Management (CCM) Robert Labayen has hinted about the network’s Christmas Station ID (SID).The Kapamilya network teased fans about their upcoming SID with the phrase “Ikaw ang Liwanag at Ligaya”.
Despite facing their darkest times since the government ordered the network to shut down, the CCM head himself during the online show, Dear Charo, of Charo Santos-Concio on Kumu last November 1 that they will air an SID for this year.
ABS-CBN had some famous SIDs including “Bro, Ikaw ang Star ng Pasko” and “Family is Love” with “Family is Forever” as their most recent.
Meanwhile, GMA Network unveiled the teaser of their Christmas Station ID 2020 on Instagram with the phrase “Puso Ang Magsisilbing Gabay”. The network will supposedly air their Station ID tonight but because of the effects of Typhoon Ulysses especially in Metro Manila, the management decided to postpone it for now.

GMA Network’s previous SIDs were “Love Shines”, “Ipadama Ang Puso Ng Pasko”, “MaGMAhalan nang Buong Puso”, and “Magic ng Pasko”.
The pandemic forced the Kapamilya and Kapuso channel to temporarily close some of their programs, live airings, other shootings. However, this didn’t stop them from continuing their annual tradition.
Amidst the ongoing crisis brought by the COVID-19 in the country, Filipinos are still eager to celebrate the Christmas season.
