Netizens called out It’s Showtime for inappropriate questions towards Gaya Sa Pelikula actors Ian Pangilinan and Paolo Pangilinan.
Firstly, Ian and Paolo came to the show to promote their online series, which empowers the LGBTQIA+ community and educates on relevant issues. Unfortunately, the noontime show subjected the two to seemingly inappropriate questions in the segment such as, who is more tigasin, magaling magpalabas, kulot, and straight. Netizens viewed these questions as a form of microaggression towards the LGTBQIA+ community.

It’s 2020 and LGBT relationships are still the subject of derisive comedy? Shame on you showtime and all your producers and staff and hosts ang dami-dami niyo pero walang pumuna, walang pumansin? https://t.co/nx90x6Uocp

A few months ago, noontime show Eat Bulaga came under fire when host, Allan K made an insensitive suicide remark on their Bawal ang Judgemental segment.
Then, actress Chai Fonacer cited this recurring issue with noontime shows wherein issues die down with no apologies from the showrunners or hosts.

Netizens also expressed their disappointment with Vice Ganda and the showrunners. Mainly because Vice is a member of the LGBTQIA+ community.
NOT. VICE. GANDA. AGAIN. 🙂🙂🙂
so disappointing, showtime.

They also added that the BL series wanted to educate people about the microaggressions faced by the LGBTQIA+ community. Netizens saw this as a wasted opportunity to further educate the public.

Clearly, they didn't get the point of the entire series. 🙄 https://t.co/eCwb1LJGa5

Ian remains mum on the issue, while Paolo wrote that he’d rather educate than hate.

Other netizens came to the defense of the show, citing Vice’s efforts in educating the public about LGBTQIA+ issues and wrote if others have seen the entirety of the Mas Testing segment.

trueee. no one talked about vice ganda explaining SOGIE on nat'l television. no one talked about vice ganda who has spoken up against the transphobic janitress, a mysogynistic senator, and a homophobic comedia. tapos ito one mistake na malamang ang mga writers ang gumawa? UNFAIR. https://t.co/cWXZ6Ixhiz
