The pandemic may have been a very bad start for the year 2020. However, for some people, it was a golden opportunity to become known for their talents.
Online personality Joyce Glorioso, a.k.a. Banana Queen made her presence known on social media thanks to her series of simple, yet hilarious skits. With her trusty banana leaves as props, she makes people laugh.
What makes her videos stand out is not just because of the banana leaves as her props. It was because of her facial expressions that got the attention of netizens.
In a recent interview with LionhearTV, she said she doesn’t feel famous at all.
“Hindi ko nafi-feel na sikat na ako. Kasi yung famous po kasi, isang mabigat na word yan eh. Kumbaga para sakin, pag famous ka, dapat kilala ka sa buong Pilipinas or parang artista ka ganon. So para po sakin, I’m not that famous po,” she said.
However, her undeniable talent has not gone unnoticed. Her dance cover of WAP by singer Cardi B. was noticed by the rapper herself. When she knew that the celebrity noticed her, she didn’t feel like it was her achievement. In fact, she mentioned that it was a proud “pinoy moment” since a Filipino was noticed by the singer.
While she has some bashers, she prefers just to ignore them.
“Ignore na lang. Kasi mas marami ang sumusuporta kesa sa kanila(bashers),” she said.
When asked about her future plans, she answered that she will still be doing funny videos. She now has 43.3K subscribers on YouTube. Joyce was also included on LionhearTV’s Top 12 Internet Sensations this 2020.
