Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach finally gave her statement regarding the feud within her family involving her sister Sarah Wurtzbach and mother Cheryl Alonzo Tyndall.
On Monday, November 2, Pia posted on her Instagram account a photo showing both her mother and sister along with a lengthy message.
Pia talked about how the issues of her family were made public and that she wishes that the netizens be kind to her sister.
She said that her family is trying to resolve their problems privately that’s why she asked the people to be kind with their words especially to her sister Sarah who had a traumatic experience.
“I’m sure a lot of you know that my family is going through some issues at the moment and most of it is posted online. This is a very hurtful time for our family,” Pia said.
“My sister, especially, had a very traumatic experience and I humbly ask everyone to be kind to her. We are trying to resolve our family issues privately and I ask for your support by not trying to put the blame on anyone and stop victim shaming,” she added.
“Please be mindful on your posts and comments to Sarah, mabigat ang pinagdadaanan niya ngayon,” she further added.
The 31-year-old beauty queen also explained that the current situation of her family saddens her. “Bilang anak at kapatid, napakasakit sa akin na makitang nagkakaganito ang mga taong mahal ko.”
Pia ended her message by asking the people to pray for her family. She said that people needed to let love prevail especially in these trying times.
“Hiling ko na lang po sa inyo na isama nyo kami sa inyong mga dasal at sana mahanap na rin ng aming pamilya ang nararapat na healing. Sa panahon na ito, magpakita po tayo ng pagmamalasakit at pagmamahal sa isa’t isa. Maraming salamat po,” she said.
Meanwhile, Sarah Wurtzbach replied to the post of Pia just minutes after the post. She thanked her sister for telling the people to be considerate of her and also told Pia that she loves her.
“I love you and thank you,” Sarah wrote.
Sarah previously expressed her anger towards Pia and Cheryl saying that they have nasty personalities. She also said that Pia wouldn’t support her and that she still needed to be humble despite the one being abused.
“Ang baho ng ugali mo. Dami mong kuda pero sorry wala,” she wrote on October 11.
“Tapos mangdadamay ng ibang tao na wala naman sa usapan. Magsama kayo ni mama, @piawurtzbach,” she added.
Sarah also demanded an apology from Pia saying they were “finished as sisters.”
But with Sarah’s recent reply to Pia, people speculated that the two have already talked things out and were on good terms already.
