Multi-awarded singer-songwriter Sam Smith revealed that if given the chance, he would be very honored to sing with Philippines’ Blind Balladeer sensation, Carl Malone Montecido.
In an interview with Nelson Canlas on 24 Oras, Smith was asked about his thoughts on Montecido,
He said he would welcome the chance to sing with the Filipino singer who went viral for singing one of Smith’s songs inside a store.
“Yes, yes, yes. It will be an absolute honor to sing with him, he is incredible.”
“He is a better singer than I am,” Smith added. “I’ll be so scared singing with him. He’s unbelievable,”
Smith was already impressed with Montecido when a video of the latter singing his “Too Good at Goodbyes” went viral.
Smith tweeted, “WHO IS THIS KID!!!!!? YOU ARE OUT OF THIS UNIVERSE WHOEVER YOU ARE.”

Even The Voice judge and mentor Kelly Clarkson revealed that Carl also charmed her squad. “This video has been going around my team as well! This kid is insane!” the singer said.
Smith himself has had to deal with personal issues. “I’ve learned more about relationship, about love, I’ve tried to figure out not to be insecure, you know I’ve spend a lot of my life in my childhood feeling insecure about my body, sexuality and myself.”
“And on the last 2 years was this amazing time where I focused to try to free myself a little bit.”
His new song “Diamonds” will have a music video showing Sam gracefully dancing alone in an abandoned house to represent his confidence and battle against insecurity.
It is the first single off his upcoming album “Love Goes.”
