The sudden popularity of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza or collectively called as AlDub on the noon time TV show Kalyeserye segment of “Eat Bulaga” had produced both negative and positive outputs.
With the epic explosion of instant fame of the ALDUB loveteam the huge number of fans from almost all sector of the society have already transcended beyond being just TV followers to expressing mob style attitude.
Question is: Are the AlDogs giving aldub fans a bad name?
Just recently when Tony Awards winning actress Filipino talent Lea Salonga tweeted on September 26 “Okay lang sa akin ang kababawan, pero hanggang doon na lamang ba tayo? #NagtatanongLangPo” {“It’s okay to be shallow but can we get any better? #Just Asking”.}

This particular tweet eventually harbored ill responses and even mob style reactions from the so called AlDub fans. Many of the aldub followers took Lea’s Salonga tweet seriously thinking that this was directed on them.
Nobody knows how and when the term AlDogs came about but it is now use to describe AlDub fans that are crossing the line between what is ethical and what is disrespectful.

Some showbiz writers claimed that they have been victimized by AlDogs through hateful statements and below the belt bashing as if these AlDogs are the ones feeding them.

There were few who said that Alden and Maine should be the ones to provide guidance and advise AlDogs to act accordingly. With the strong and overflowing feelings of AlDub fans it seems that they are always on a defense mode which could badly reflect on their idols.
