Liza Soberano just revealed that one her role models in showbiz is Kapamilya host-actress Angel Locsin.
Liza said she looks up to Angel when it comes to acting skills and serving others.The actress shared that she was truly inspired by Angel’s charitable deeds for her fellow Filipinos and it prompted her make meaningful efforts to help others too.
“Here in the Philippines it will definitely be ate Angel Locsin and on the western side, I really look up to Audrey Hepburn and Angelina Jolie,” Liza answered when asked about her role models in showbiz in an interview with Karen Davila on ANC’s Headstart.
Meanwhile, the young actress also expressed her frustration over the negativities in social media and the current issues in the country. Liza said this pushed her to become vocal of expressing her views online.
“I just didn’t feel comfortable sharing them because I knew people would always have something to say against my opinion and before I wasn’t comfortable with that.
“But now I think I’ve gained so much courage from seeing other people stand up for themselves that has inspired me to stand up for myself and for those people who cannot do so,” Liza said.
Recently, she sued an employee of an internet service provider who made a rape comment against her.
The Kapamilya actress told that this was her way of teaching a lesson to irresponsible and rude netizens who give intolerable comments.
Liza said that she will not back down against people who bully and make malicious comments online.
“There aim is to silence me and if I give them that then they win. And we can’t let them win,” she said.
Liza believed that,”We got to keep voicing out opinions especially if we know we are on the right side.
“And I have to be the voice for the voiceless. I have to spark courage to the people who support me and look up to me,” she added.
In one part of the interview, Liza was asked if there will be a a chance for her to consider entering politics to which she quickly replied, “No. I don’t think so.”
Liza was also one of the ABS-CBN artists who spoke up for the network following the rejection of its franchise.
She said she was inspired by actresses Bea Alonzo and Angel to finally be outspoken about how ABS-CBN was unfairly treated during the franchise hearings.
In an interview with Philstar News she said, “I guess I gathered the confidence from other people I love and other women I admire like Ate Angel Locsin, Ate Bea Alonzo. When I saw them fight, it encouraged me to fight. I realized that I have to choose my battles and what I’m really trying to win.”
Also one of the reasons that pushed her to be outspoken is because she’s using her voice to fight for children’s rights.
