The ongoing network wars between the 2 formidable forces on Philippine television only triggered by the AlDub phenomenon into something bigger which already affected some stars on both ABS-CBN and GMA Network.
With tougher competition on the noontime slot It’s Showtime of the Kapamilya network versus Eat Bulaga of the Kapuso network, stars are already affected and have to endure some damage control under strict compliance to their respective networks.
Sad to say that the ongoing rift between ABS-CBN and GMA Network may have victimized Regal Entertainment the movie outfit behind “Prenup” through its lead actress. Jennylyn Mercado a recognized star from GMA and currently has a major role in “My Faithful Husband” was said to have scheduled ABS-CBN guesting to promote her upcoming Regal movie.
Some stars of ABS-CBN including actor Sam Milby is included in this Regal movie. It is only expected that Jen of Kapuso network will guest on some TV programs on the Kapamilya network as part of their promotions and vise versa.
Just this weekend many of Jennylyn Mercado fanatics were hoping to see Jen on GMA Network noontime “Sunday Pinasaya” show but to their disappointment the said scheduled appearance of Jennylyn on Sunday Pinasaya was cancelled last minute. Fans even reacted that they will still expect to see Jennylyn on the rival network Sunday show ASAP and if not they will just be contented to see Jen on mall shows. Followers were dumbfounded as to what is the real reason for Jennylyn Mercado’s cancelled guesting.
Apparently the question still remains – is Jennylyn Mercado not allowed to promote Prenup on either ABS-CBN or her own Kapuso Network since all of her guesting was cancelled.
It is also said the “Prenup” by Regal Entertainment is suffering the consequence from the ABS-CBN versus GMA network competition by having a tough time promoting the soon to be released movie on both networks.
Prenup is a romantic comedy movie filmed in New York and will be showing in cinemas nationwide very soon.
