Former Kapuso star Kris Bernal shared she went through depression after her home network for 13 years no longer renewed her contract.
In an interview with Gorgy Rula on DZRH, Kris shared how she confronted the reality that she was no longer an exclusive contract star of GMA network and that she lost her talent management contract with GMA Artist Center.
The Kapuso star also told Rula that there were times that she questioned if GMA Network doesn’t like her anymore that’s why they did not give her a new contract.
May ganun. Kung may choice ako to stay, talagang I will stay with my network. Ang tanong, gusto pa ba nila ako?” Kris said
Kris first revealed that she’s no longer an exclusive contract star of GMA after she guested on TV5’s morning show Chika Besh.
In her video blog, she was asked by her followers how was she allowed to guest in another network knowing she’s an exclusive contract star of GMA.
In response, Kris disclosed that her contract with GMA Artist already expired and she’s no longer exclusive with GMA but she’s still doing some guestings on several Kapuso programs.
“Well, it’s because my contract with GMA expired during this pandemic. Yes, of course, I did. Oo naman. I informed my bosses about this guesting and they were okay about it. Siyempre, hindi ko po ito gagawin kung may makakabangga po ako or kung may masasaktan po ako, of course, hindi ko po ito gagawin,” she said
“Pero I’m still doing guestings with GMA. Yes, kinukuha pa rin nila ako. Trabaho is trabaho, tatanggapin ko po iyan,” she added.
Meanwhile, Kris also admitted about her fears that she might be bumped off by new stars who have a huge social media presence which according to her she’s currently working on.
May sumusuporta pa ba sa akin?'” she added.
Bernal was a product of StarStruck where she won the Ultimate Love Team in 2006 with Mart Escudero. Her last project with the Kapuso network was Hanggang sa Dulo ng Buhay Ko in 2019.
