Tuesday Vargas took to social media to express her frustrations over people who said that the plants that she has been selling were overpriced.
In an Instagram live video on August 20, Vargas became emotional while explaining her side as to why her plants are deemed as ‘overpriced.’
She explained that the prices of her products only depend on the price that her suppliers sell her. She said that she doesn’t earn that much because she only makes a small markup.
She said that the prices have rocketed since the country is suffering from the COVID-19 pandemic. She also said that the times have changed and those plants that people knew were priced lower are already increasing its price especially those plants that are being in high demand by the public.
Hindi kami talaga kumikita,” she added.
She said that she needed to speak up regarding the criticisms that she received because she will not stay quiet if her character and intelligence are being judged.
“Inaatake na ‘yung pagkatao ko para sabihin nila na wala akong edukasyon at nanloloko ako,” she said.

Vargas mentioned that she started her plant selling venture for the reason of wanting to keep the products moving. She wanted to help those sellers, farmers, and gardeners who were struggling with their plant businesses due to the pandemic.
As a plant lover ever since she was little, Vargas wanted to be of help to those who share the same passion as hers so that those people can continue with their plant business. She hoped that through her business, the plant community will prosper and more people will come to appreciate the art of tending plants.
“I just want to make things clear na I started out selling plants because I wanted to move products. I saw the sellers, the farmers, the gardeners struggling during the pandemic kase lagi akong bumibili sa kanila,” she said.
“Mahilig talaga ako maghalaman [simula] bata pa ako,” she added.
She explained that her tears are a mixture of exhaustion and disappointment from the people who spoke ill of her. She was defeated that’s why she decided to breakdown despite being in front of thousands of viewers.
She mentioned that people’s judgments of her were wrong as she explained that she wouldn’t be in the showbiz industry for about two decades if she really did have a bad attitude and was taking advantage of people.
She shared a message for the people who bashed her, saying that instead of spreading hate and anger during these times in the pandemic, they should just focus on spreading love and understanding others.
She wanted to let other people know that she is the type of person who will not stay still if her name and character are at stake most especially if she is in the right.
Wala akong ginagawang mali,” she said.
Recently, Vargas also opened up about the issue when she was interviewed for ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol.
She once again mentioned that she was deeply hurt that she was tagged as someone who is greedy and an opportunist.
Vargas said. “Inaatake nila yung pagkatao ko, na wala akong edukasyon at nangloloko ako.”
She said that “Walong taon na akong naghahalaman. What I did was I registered my business and I asked my accountant what I should do sa new normal and she advised me to post my prices.”
