Comcast Teams Up with TFC on Philippines Relief Donation Campaign in California

LIVERMORE, CA – Following announcements last month of free calls to the Philippines and open access to view The Filipino Channel (TFC) in the wake of Typhoon Haiyan, Comcast’s California Region today announced a donation campaign to further assist ongoing relief efforts.

Comcast’s California Region will make a $10 donation to the ABS-CBN Foundation International Sagip Kapamilya (Family Rescue) towards relief and rehabilitation for Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) survivors for every new subscriber to TFC and/or Filipino On Demand in the state of California during the month of December

TFC is the #1 Filipino network in the world, and is available on XFINITY TV from Comcast as a premium channel for $12.99 per month on Channel 367.  Filipino On Demand is a subscription video on demand service offering movies, concert events and variety shows from the Philippines available on Channel 1 in the Premium section under “Filipino.”  Filipino On Demand is sold for a monthly subscription fee of $7.99 a la carte or $5.99 with a subscription to another Filipino premium network.  Additional packages are also available.

For a limited time, Comcast is offering new subscribers in California a special discounted price of $5 more per month for 6 months for TFC and Filipino On Demand.  This offer is not available in all markets.

To subscribe, customers should call Comcast at 1-877-508-5502.

“We at TFC appreciate the ongoing efforts by Comcast to assist in relief efforts.  All donations will go directly to those who need it most, through our foundation on the ground in the Philippines,” said ABS-CBN Global Head of Carriage & North America Regional Marketing Director Jun Del Rosario.  “Right now, it is even more important for Filipinos to connect with home through TFC.”

ABS-CBN Foundation International is the public service arm of ABS-CBN International, the largest and most successful Filipino content distribution company in the U.S., which operates TFC.  Sagip Kapamilya is the Foundation’s emergency disaster relief and management program.
