Presidential Spokeperson Harry Roque became a laughing stock again for Twitter netizens who observed that the Presidential Spokesperson’s mask seemed to be small for him.
On Twitter, comedian John Lapus retweeted a netizens’ tweet saying, “Bat parang hindi fit sa kanya yung facemask?” to which the comedian immediately answered, “Makapal ang mukha e.”

One netizen even said that Harry Roque’s mask seems to be having a hard time. “Parang hirap na hirap yung facemask ni Harry Roque. Facemask, if you need help: blink twice!”

As seen in the videos, Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque was proudly announcing the country’s plan to develop its own safety equipment against coronavirus disease.
The Palace official said a consortium of local manufacturers had invested about $35 million to produce medical-grade PPEs and face masks. The latest activity initiated by the Confederation of Philippine Manufacturers on PPEs (CPMP) provides employment for 7,450 workers.
“Ang galing talaga ng Pilipinas po, sa sandaling panahon nakagawa po tayo ng kinakailangan natin para labanan itong COVID-19. Congratulations Philippines,” he said.
So far, he said the group has a production capacity of 57.6 million masks and 3 million pieces of clothing and insulation for the protection of health frontliners.
But tracking back, Vice President Leni Robredo had earlier said that the government should concentrate more on the local development of medical supplies needed in the battle against COVID-19 instead of importing them from other countries.
This is because of the shortage of N95 masks and other protective equipment that health workers need most to fight infectious diseases.
”So sana, mas i-promote pa na mag-produce na lang tayo locally kaysa import tayo nang import (I hope we will promote to produce locally instead of importing).”
The Vice President also called for the procurement of local goods to prevent the country from depending on imports when the domestic economy needs to get back on track.
“Ito pinakiusap ko na din—sana iyong kampanya natin ngayon Buy Local. Iyong mayroon lang naman dito sa atin, sana huwag na munang mag-import, para mas maraming tao iyong matulungan sa trabaho (I also request this—I hope our campaign now is Buy Local. I hope we will not import those we have here, so we will be able to help more people with jobs),”
Netizens were also quick to call out for the Palace late’s action about the promotion of locally made face mask,
