Kadenang Ginto actress Dimples Romana explained why she failed to attend the noise barrage protest held on Saturday, July 18, following the Congress’ denial of ABS-CBN’s franchise bid.
Her fellow actress and best friend Angel Locsin called out other ABS-CBN stars who have remained quiet despite the situation of the network.
Locsin attended the rally along with veteran actors Jaime Fabregas and Joel Torre, host Bianca González, actor Jake Cuenca, beauty queen Kylie Verzosa, young actors Edward Barber and Maymay Entrata, and couple on and off-screen Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.
Locsin said in her speech during the rally, “Sa lahat ng artistang hindi nagsasalita, ano? May career pa ba kayo? Wala na, wala na kayong network.”
Even though she didn’t mention any names, she called out those artists who keep posting on their Instagram accounts as if they’re not aware of what is happening on their network.
“Kahit magpa-cute kayo diyan sa Instagram, mag-send kayo ng mga sad face —hindi niyo nadadamayan ang mga katrabaho niyong dahilan kung bakit kayo sumikat.”
She added, “Kapag hindi tayo nagsalita, ibig sabihin kinampihan natin ang mali!”
On her Instagram account, Romana thanked Locsin for sympathizing with the Kapamilya artists.
She said, “Salamat Mars @therealangellocsin for always leading the way, making your presence felt, not just to me but to all our beloved Kapamilyas. Mabuhay ka.”
The actress also shared her photo with a lighted candle in solidarity with ABS-CBN and its employees.

In the comment section, a netizen then asked Romana’s reason for not attending the rally and accompanying Locsin.
“Bakit di nyo po sinamahan si angel sa rally? kasi ng sisigaw sya san dw mga ksmhn [kasamahan] nya artista? ano comment po? since kw ung [yung] bf [best friend] nya,” she wrote.
The actress replied to the netizen that she was busy with her son Alonzo Ahmee on that day.
She explained, “I had worked with Alonzo today and it’s also his moving up day.”
