Last June 30, ABS-CBN received an alias cease and desist order from the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) ordering it to cease and discontinue the operation of digital TV transmission in Metro Manila on channel 43.
This generated a lot of reaction from ABS-CBN Journalists.
Jeff Canoy posted, “No calls, no angry cries, no words spoken. But at the same time, it was deafening. As employees lit each candle, you could feel the promise to keep the light and fight burning. In the service of the Filipino, we remain.”

Broadcast Journalist Karen Davila believes that NTC’s another cease and desist order is a form of harassment and injustice,
“Pure harassment.

Kevin Manalo also used his voice believing that us, Filipinos are entitled to free press and what had happened is a pure curtailment of rights,
“To Filipinos, keep your eyes and hearts peeled. It is your right to access a free press. It is your right to express yourself. Curtailing your rights is a violation of the constitution.”

ABS-CBN Journalists Anjo Bagaoisan and Bianca Dava tweeted their disappointment with the CDO and their hope that ABS-CBN will soon be back on air.
Pray with us. #HoldTheLine with us.

ABS-CBN’s Tony Velasquez somehow used censored curses to show his disappointments on NTC’s Cease and Desist order,
Talangka you very much, Shiny Mothers y’all.”

On the same day, ABS-CBN immediately released a press statement about the alias cease and desist order issued by NTC.
The cease and desist order from the National Telecommunications Commission ( NTC) ordered ABS-CBN to discontinue operation of digital TV transmission in Metro Manila on channel 43. The TVPlus set-top boxes in Metro Manila would no longer be able to show Teleradyo, Jeepney TV, Yey!, Asianovela Channel, CineMo, and KBO.
