The Digital Campus Suite will enable students and the school access to learning programs and to earn IT (Information Technology) certification for critical IT skills that are now in-demand in today’s digital-driven industries.
As early as today, leading telecoms and multi-media service provider PLDT, through its business unit PLDT SME Nation, together with global IT giant Microsoft Philippines has launched this newest service package last August 26, 2015. Definitely a good news to everyone who wants to experience technology even on the early stage of their studies.
Think about the traditional content, communication, notebooks and pens, and internet connection. During the early days, these are the factors that commonly used in schools for students to finish their home works. From the chaotic experience of researching to chasing instructors just to let the work checked, how many of the students before had wished for a simple process to save time, money and effort.
Through the Digital Campus Suite, schools will have high-speed connectivity with PLDT MyDSL Biz or iGate, and online access to training courses of the Microsoft IT Academy Program.
Schools will receive licenses to Microsoft Office 365 to help students and teachers interact and teach using Cloud tools and platforms. The suite also includes laptops, tablets, and WiFi access points in the campus for the use of students for their over-all digital education experience. The traditional factors are now switched to digital content, collaboration, smart devices, and connectivity.
During the launch, students from different school across Metro Manila witnessed the event. They are awe upon learning this new service. Everyone was welcome with a bang by the beat of the drummers from Animo Squad and Blue Babble Battalion.
Also highlighted in the event was the breath-taking performance of the UP (University of the Philippines) and NU (National University) PEP Squad.
PLDT Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan said, “We at PLDT are confident that this partnership can significantly contribute to enriching the digital content of Philippine education. By enabling schools through these programs, we are helping them, both educator and student, to gain new critical skills and learn IT courses.”
“This initiative fully aligns with PLDT SME Nation’s efforts to empower the future generation with an ICT-enabled education system. ICT skills are no longer just adding value to employment but are now necessities in today’s business and entrepreneurial landscape,” added PLDT FVP and Head of SME Business Kat Luna-Abelarde.
