Daryl Ong apparently is not totally banned from ABS-CBN.
On June 15, Ong came out with a YouTube video claiming he’s no longer with ABS-CBN because he was banned by one of its executives.
In the video, Daryl discussed the circumstances that led to his alleged banning from the Kapamilya network.
According to Daryl, they were originally discussing investing in the stock market when the conversation lead to the ABS-CBN franchise issue.
However, that conversation was apparently recorded by someone they shared a table with and the recording eventually reached the ABS-CBN executive.
Meanwhile, LionhearTV reached out to some reliable people inside ABS-CBN to verify the issue and get the side of the network.
According to our source, it is not true that Daryl was totally banned from the network and that he was not given a chance to explain his side.
The insider explained that, yes Daryl cannot work with the network in the meantime, but they are ready to talk and sort out the issue after the pandemic and after the franchise issue.
“Let’s talk after this pandemic. Tapusin lang ang problema sa franchise at magnormalize kasi ‘yun ang priority, let’s talk,” said the insider.
Apparently, there were also missing pieces in Daryl’s narrative about the alleged recorded conversation. The insider said what Daryl did not mention in the video is his use of foul words and comments that demeaned the network. That is what caught the ire of the executive.
Instead of what Daryl said in his video: “Si Presidente ba naman ang kalaban, so malabo na yan,” what he said according to the source was more like, “Mga ugok sila!
With Daryl’s video going viral and ABS-CBN critics using it against the network, will Daryl be given another chance or will he be really totally banned from the station?
