TV5 will really gamble on a lot of their artists this year. One of them will be Alwyn Uytingco, a product of Star Magic Batch 9, now in TV5 since ABS-CBN can’t give him any project. His last project on ABS-CBN was in 2010 where he played the role of young Julio in “Imortal.” On his stay on TV5, he was casted in over at least 10 projects and some of his memorable performances are in “Nandito Ako” (2012), “Sa Ngalan ng Ina” (2011), and in “Iskul Bukol” (2011).
This 25-year-old actor Alwyn possesses a lot of potentials, but I don’t know, what’s wrong, why no one pushed him on ABS-CBN. He became one of my favorite young actors in 2002 when he played Nikos in hit teleserye “Kaytagal Kitang Hinintay” starring Bea Alonzo and John loyd Cruz.
Anyways, it’s great to know that TV5 will be giving him the spotlight this year. Alwyn will topbill a TV series titled “Beki Boxer” where he will portray the role of Maneng, a gay who has boxing skills that could make him a famous champion boxer. The “Beki Boxer” sounds familiar with Thailand movie “Beautiful Boxer,” about the story of the Thai kickboxer Parinya Charoenpho’s struggle to become a woman. And I don’t know if this is a remake or not.
We’ll just hope this will kick in TV ratings. Goodluck Alwyn!
