Comedienne Ethel Booba finally enlightened her fans and followers about the Twitter account which she revealed was not hers.
On her YouTube Channel, the comedienne posted her 50th vlog that tackled about the story behind the controversial Twitter account that she now disowns.
In the 30-minute lengthy video, Ethel revealed that she knew about the ‘fake’ Twitter account way back in 2012 as the account holder introduced himself/herself as a ‘fan’. But only in 2016 that she took notice when the user started following her siblings and close friends including Geri.
The comedian revealed that she had a Twitter account before the ‘fake’ one existed, however, due to the toxic environment of one of the biggest social platforms, she decided to deactivate it.
According to the 43-year-old artist, she allowed the ‘fake’ Twitter account to carry her name as the tweets were funny.
“Hindi naman nakaka-harm sa ibang tao kasi puro ano lang, puro mga quotes nakakatawa lang,” she said.
However, Ethel clarified that she has no contact with the fake account user. She just allowed the handler of the ‘fake’ account to keep on and even passed on funny-witty tweets to be posted through her siblings and friends. In a conversation, she also found out that the holder of the account is not only one, but many.

Much to her surprise, the ‘fake’ account garnered millions of followers. As the tweets were loved by netizens, Ethel was given an opportunity to publish her own book. In 2016, she released the book, “#Charotism: The Wit and Wisdom of Ethel Booba,” which contains her viral tweets.
The ‘fake’ account that used to be posting good vibes and funny tweets became politics-centered.
The ‘fake’ account started commenting against politicians as well as the current administration. Through her friend Geri and her siblings, Ethel tried to persuade the ‘impostor’ to stop posting about politics, and just try to get back on spreading positivity and funny quotes. However, the ‘fake’ account holder did not listen and continued posting the same. It became uncontrollable that’s why Ethel decided to do what she should have done before.
Parang ako pa nga yung talagang nagamit dito. baka meron siyang mga hidden agenda na hindi ko alam di ba? namumulitika na sya e,” she said in her vlog.
The ‘Charot Queen’ couldn’t help but become emotional as she shared her sentiments towards the ‘fake’ account holder that she never had the chance to know as she is currently being bashed because of the recent tweets taking a swipe against the Duterte Administration and its effort to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
She stated: “Nanggigil ako e. May pandemic tayo na nangyayari sa buong mundo. We are in a desperate situation right now… Bakit parang pinagmumukha mo akong maramot?
She also revealed that she was the first promoter of fundraising to help the government in helping those people in need amid the crisis that the country is facing. However, she didn’t push it through as she’s busy taking care of her baby.
“Ako yung una na promotor na magpa-fundraising. May anak lng ako ngayon, di ko maasikaso,” Ethel pointed out.
She added: “Huwag kayong ganyan, gagabaan kayo. Ang tagal ko nang walang koneksiyon sa Twitter through them.”
As her vlog went on, Ethel clarified that she’s not against the Duterte Administration.
She admitted: “Magpapakatransparent ako.
The Charotism author also expressed her pity to her baby girl as she cannot take her out due to COVID-19 outbreak by saying, “Naiiyak nga ako kasi hindi tayo makalabas. Hindi ko maipasyal ung anak ko. Hindi ko maipakita sa kanya yung mundo.”
Nonetheless, Ethel clarified that she’s not receiving any death threats for she is just clearing her name and revealing the truth.
“Wala akong death threat noh,” she explained.
Despite the criticisms from her bashers, Ethel has more important in her mind to even care about them.
Furthermore, Ethel shared what she learned from this experience.

The resurrection plant she mentioned was a fictional rare purple flower based on the Netflix series Kingdom that is said to have the power to bring the dead back to life by turning into a mindless, bloodthirsty zombie.
To those who are asking if she’s a DDS or not, this is what she has to say: “Sa mga nagtatanong kung anti-Duterte ako kalkalin nyo ung Instagram ko, i-backread nyo yung facebook ko, yung mga history ko.. di ako anti-Duterte tigilan nyo ako.”
To the person(s) behind the @IamEthylGabison Twitter account, this is her reminder: “Tigilan mo na yan.
