Multi-awarded TV Newscaster and Journalist Arnold Clavio debunked rumors that his Facebook account was shut down due to the threats he receives and due to claims that he’s spreading fake news.
According to Arnold, his Facebook account was disabled by random netizens who reported his account, and clarified that he has no intention of leaving the social media platform.
Arnold clarified: “Nandito pa ako sa Instagram at walang planong umalis. Hanggang ngayon nga ay ‘disabled’ pa rin ang aking Facebook account at messenger. Salamat sa nagsumbong sa FB.”
In line with this, Arnold stated that he’s a veteran Journalist from mainstream media with good intentions to bring out the attention of authorities to an urgent matter that may have caused more frightening consequences if the situation will not be addressed properly and immediately.
He continued: “The intent was not to call out or to criticize without any factual basis, but to bring to the attention of the authorities an urgent matter that is both worrisome and alarming. Neither am I courting public attention at the expenses of public welfare.
“I hope you don’t see me as antagonist because all I ever wanted was to bring light to the truth. The truth shall set us free.”

A few days ago, Arnold Clavio risked his career by exposing the truth on the concealment of COVID-19 deaths by a hospital. According to the report submitted to Arnold, dead bodies were piling up to the hallway of a particular hospital in Metro Manila. The multi-awarded Journalist firmly believes that people have the right to know the truth and it was not his intention to cause panic for the public.
“May karapatan tayo na malaman ang katotohanan mula sa gobyerno – Department of Health at mga local na pamahalaaan. At may karapatan din ako na iparating ito sa kinauukulan. Seryoso at nakakabahala ang impormasyong ito at kailangan ang mabilis na pagtugon ng pamahalaan.”
Secretary Francisco Duque III revealed an official statement that Department of Health will never issue a directive for hospitals to conceal the number of COVID-19 deaths. Thus, the DOH will investigate the particular hospital in Metro Manila.
The DOH did NOT and will NEVER issue a directive for hospitals to conceal the number of COVID-19 deaths. Mr. Clavio disclosed to me the hospital allegedly involved in this issue and we will investigate IMMEDIATELY. @DOHgovph @TWACofficial
