Ethel Booba shocked netizens by warning her more than 100,000 followers on her Instagram account that the popular Twitter account @IamEthylGabison with more than 1.6 million followers is actually a fake account.
She has disowned the famous and controversial Twitter account named after her.
As posted yesterday, April 9, the comedienne shared a screenshot of the Twitter page and captioned it,
“Beware of this fake Twitter! # StopUsingMyName # fake # fakenews # peke”

The account became popular with its humorous but witty and controversial comments on Philippine politics, often ending with Ethel’s signature line, “Charot!”
Most of the tweets criticized Duterte’s administration which caused the account to garner more than a million followers on Twitter.
Ethel also seemed aware of this Twitter account, since she even joked about it in her interview with LionHeartv, saying that some tweets against Mocha Uson were made by her mother and even her niece,
“Ay hinde sya talaga yon, paminsan nga pamangkin ko eh.”

The Twitter account even gave birth to #CHAROTISM The Wit and Wisdom of Ethel Booba, a book she released after her funny and amusing tweets about different topics became popular on Twitter.
After making that post, the term “Ethel Booba” became one of the top trends in Philippine Twitter, and netizens start to speculate on why Ethel Booba suddenly disowned her Twitter Account.
