A lot of netizens and celebrities were taken aback by President Rodrigo Duterte when he sided with Vice President Leni Robredo for the first time, whom he had usually belittled in most of his speeches.
This was when Presidential Anti-Crime Commission’s (PACC) Manuelito Luna wanted an investigation into VP Robredo’s COVID-19 relief operations since it was “competing” with the president’s own efforts.
In a very un-Duterte like move, the president said that Robredo had done nothing wrong. He even fired Luna from the PACC for his actions.
This unusual show of support from Duterte for Robredo got netizens talking.
