As the government’s incompetence in solving the COVID-19 crisis continues to grow, more and more people are starting to be disgruntled.
Aside from the usual government critics, former Rodrigo Duterte supporters have already started changing their tunes as they soon realize that he has not offered any solution.
One of the known Duterte supporters, Kapamilya actress Angelica Panganiban was disheartened by the fact that she supported Duterte in 2016.
In a tweet, Wednesday, April 1, Angelica admitted that she was sad over her decision in 2016 and was sorry for it.
“Yes. Nakakalungkot. Pero oo. Patawarin niyo ko.”

Her response came on the heels of her tweet supporting embattled Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto who was summoned by the NBI for possible violation of the Bayanihan Heal as One Act.
Wala silang mapag initan. Si mayor vico talaga? Kung sino pa may natutulong at maayos na sistema, siya pa kakasuhan? HANEP! Eh nasan na yung nagkalat ng virus sa makati med? So far kasi yun palang nagagawa niya. Ikalat ang virus. Mapapamura ka na lang pala talaga.

In reaction to this, a netizen reminded Angelica that in 2016 she was one of the staunch supporters of then-presidential candidate Duterte.
The netizen asked if Angelica has woken up to reality.
“Nagising ka na ba sa pagkahypnotize?”
Angelica admitted her dismay and apologized for making the wrong choice.

On Monday, April 1, the NBI sent a letter of invitation to Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto to explain his side on his possible violation of the Bayanihan Act when he allowed the operation of tricycles in his city during the Enhanced Community Quarantine period.

However, the supposed violation was done on March 17 and Sotto, upon DILG’s instruction to stop the tricycle operation, already did so on March 19.
The Bayanihan Act was signed into law on March 24, 2020.
No less than Senate President Tito Sotto, who is the principal author of the law in the senate, said the law cannot be applied retroactively.
NBI will be well advised to be cautious in their interpretation of the law I principally authored. Any so called violation of RA 11469 can't be retroactive!

Angelica is not the only celebrity who is now speaking up against the government.
Here are other celebrities who slammed the government’s actions against the Pasig City Mayor.

You can call me laos, starlet or pokpok all you want cus of how I tweet my opinions about our government. But he sought after this position – and I don’t agree with whats happening. Sorry if the truth hurts but you can’t deny it especially when its staring right at your face.
