Two celebrities have spoken up about the news that COVID-19 patients in Quezon City were asked to return to their homes because of insufficient space in the hospital facilities.
In her tweet, Alex Gonzaga said she’s saddened to watch news about the COVID-19 patients who were sent home because of inadequate hospital facilities.
She added that while everyone wanted this quarantine period to end, news like these can prolong it.
“Nakakalungkot naman to watch an interview saying Covid patients are sent home because of lack of space sa facilities. We want this quarantine to end so people can get back on their feet na but with this kind of news from the authorities baka ma-prolong pa. Lord pls help us!”

Pokwang also shared her sentiments about the news.
On Twitter, Pokwang asked why didn’t the Quezon City LGU find other facilities to isolate the patients like the Araneta Coliseum instead of sending them home.
“E bakit hindi po gamitin ang Araneta Coliseum para doon pansamantala gamutin ang mga nag positibo sa virus? kesa pauwiin kawawa naman ang family nila lalo na kung may bata or matatanda? wala naman gagamit non at wala naman mag Co concert sa panahon na ito!!!”

Their reactions came after the news that COVID-19 positive patients in Quezon City were sent home apparently because of a lack of hospital facilities.
In a media interview, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte admitted that there were three patients who tested positive with COVID-19 who were sent back to their homes because the hospitals cannot accommodate them anymore.
“They’re all confirmed positive. They are not admitted. So, that’s a little shocking and a little disturbing, I think,” she said
“They are showing, fortunately, just very, very mild symptoms. And I think, probably, they might be asymptomatic that’s why also there’s a little bit of lack of concern to isolate them in a facility,” Belmonte added.
“Now, what’s happening is the person gets tested but because there’s no place for them to stay while they’re waiting for the results, they get sent home. So, even if they’re positive, they get sent home,” Belmonte continued
