Bacoor City Mayor Lani Mercado Revilla threw shade on other mayors who are currently getting praised on social media.
In a Facebook live, Mercado said she knew that there are social media savvy mayors who are getting special attention online thus she opted to use the platform also.
Mercado was one of the Mayors who trended on social media for being absent from the public eye despite the escalating situation on the COVID-19 crisis.

Her absence was compared by netizens to mayors who are being praised and commended by netizens for their efforts to deal with the crisis.
Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, and Cainta Mayor Kit Nieto were all lauded for being proactive with their approach in their respective cities.
Nieto was the first to deploy all of his barangay health workers and do house-to-house health check after DOH (Department of Health) confirmed that the first case of community transmission in the country came from Cainta.

He also implemented giving food stubs to those highly affected by the community quarantine.

Manila mayor Isko Moreno, on the other hand, has allocated a P227.5-million budget to feed around 350,000 families for three days in case the COVID-19 scenario takes more time than expected.
Yorme also instituted a Center for Infectious Disease Control at the Sta. Ana hospital to be used as isolation rooms for COVID-19 cases in the city of Manila.

Aside from that, he also personally roamed the streets of the city to make sure people are abiding by the curfew rules.
I just can't help but to adore Manila Mayor Isko Moreno. His dedication to serve his people can't be equalled. He himself roams the city to make sure that everyone is following the curfew. #COVID19PH #COVID19 pic.twitter.com/g47CqjJe9a

Among Metro Manila mayors, Vico Sotto currently seems to be the most lauded because of his innovative, logical yet practical approach in implementing the quarantine. The Pasig City Mayor was praised not only by his constituents but many netizens from different parts of the country.
From pledging to pay the full salaries of all of the city’s employees and contractuals, to purchasing and distributing 400,000 food packs for his constituents, putting up a mobile kitchen for frontliners, and providing free bus transportation to all essential employees, Pasig city is currently being tagged as a model city in the fight against COVID-19.
Sa kasalukuyan ay inihahanda na namin ang Purchase Request para sa 400,000 food packs.
Hindi magiging madali ang logistics nito. Hihingi ang lungsod ng tulong sa mga pamahalaan pambarangay para sa distribusyon.

What’s impressed people more is the purchase of drones which will be used to spray viral disinfectant from above.

But aside from the three mayors, there were also others who showed great efforts in the fight against the new coronavirus.
Marikina Mayor Marcy Teodoro was also praised by many for the efforts he’s been doing for his constituents like putting up their own molecular laboratory which will be used in testing COVID-19 cases.

Valenzuela Mayor Rex Gatchalian also had a share of commendable works for setting up a Central Isolation Center in preparation for eventual positive cases in their city.
Walang Postive na Covid case to date sa Valenzuela City
Pero we are prepared for anything that may come our way. DILG instructed us so we followed
We now have two Central Isolation Centers. Disinfected, Set Up and in a couple of hours Sealed.
