The issue of the franchise renewal of ABS-CBN is still a hot topic today.
Even though President Rodrigo Duterte has accepted the apology of ABS-CBN President and Chief Executive Officer Carlo Katigbak, whether the franchise of the network be renewed or not still depends on what the House of Congress decides.
And if the network would be denied a new franchise, many celebrities and supporters will surely be affected.
One of them is Kapamilya actor Ejay Falcon.
In an interview, the “Sandugo” star shared that ABS-CBN has helped him a lot for it paved way for him to become an actor, which is his source of income.
Falcon rose to prominence after being hailed as the Big Winner in the teen edition of Pinoy Big Brother in 2008. After his momentous win, the actor decided to pursue his career in showbiz under the helm of the media conglomerate.
He was given several projects which truly have helped the actor grow and provide for his family, the reason why he has a huge debt of gratitude to ABS-CBN.
With ABS-CBN’s possible shut down, the actor admitted that he’s quite afraid of what will happen if he ever stops his career as an actor. According to Falcon, with the money he has saved, he can venture into business or go to school again.
For the 30-year-old actor, ABS-CBN has been his home and in the end, “pipiliin natin umuwi sa ating tahanan kasi mas do’n tayo masaya, do’n tayo mas buo.”
Meanwhile, the lawmakers who are in charge of ABS-CBN’s franchise bills said that the network can still operate even if its franchise expires by the end of March as the expiration wouldn’t mean its immediate shutdown.
