Viva Entertainment says that Nadine Lustre is still part of Viva Agency

Fans were still reeling after the confirmation of the breakup of on and off-screen couple James Reid and Nadine Lustre when they were hit again with another shocker: Nadine announced that she had terminated her contract with Viva Entertainment.

Nadine’s lawyer, Lorna Kapunan, announced that the actress had left Viva Artists Agency and decided to be ‘self-managed’ in a press statement.

Viva Entertainment chief executive officer (CEO) Vic del Rosario reacted to the announcement, firmly saying that Nadine is still a talent of their agency.

During the announcement of Viva Entertainment of their 2020 film projects, Del Rosario shared that Nadine is still obligated to do seven more movies under Viva.

“Mayroon pang 7 movies pa siya na nakakontrata, exclusive.”

Del Rosario even mentioned that Nadine turned down a role in their Metro Manila Film Festival entry Miracle Cell No. 7.

“Yong ‘Miracle’ tinanggihan niya… mayroon kaming in-offer pang iba. Sa kontrata, puwede naman siyang mag-no dahil sa kontrata namin, puwedeng mag-reject ang artist kapag hindi nila type. Ang bawal lang, bawal lumabas sa iba.”

Nadine’s camp last Tuesday accused Viva Artists Agency (VAA) of “taking advantage of young artists,” in response to the threat of legal action against the actress.

Atty. Kapunan said, “Any legal action by Viva so their unconscionable, oppressive and illegal contract with Nadine (and their other artists) can be litigated in the proper forum.

“It’s about time that a David strikes out a Goliath that has taken advantage of young artists in the industry for the longest time.”

The 26-year-old actress made her showbiz breakthrough in 2014 through the Viva Films romance flick Diary ng Panget.”

As early as 2009, she was launched as part of Viva’s girl group Pop Girls.
