- Julia Barretto has moved on from her past romance with Joshua Garcia.
- She described how committed she is in a relationship.
- She gained controversy last year after her alleged romance with Gerald Anderson
Block Z star Julia Barretto is apparently healed from her past relationship with Joshua Garcia, the young actor who was linked to the tandem of JoshLia.
After admitting their unexpected break-up last year, the two assured fans that they will remain as best of friends.
According to Barretto, this indicates that they have now moved on from their failed relationship.
“Depende naman ‘yon sa inyong dalawa eh, and alam mo that’s when you know you both really moved on from each other when you’re over with that chapter in your lives. ‘Yung kaya n’yo nang maging magkaibigan and turn it into something beautiful,” Julia explained on a Tonight With Boy Abunda episode.
She also added that having no closure in a relationship is the best option, sometimes.
“Ako kasi Tito Boy, sometimes not having any closure is closure already. Ako ‘yon eh, why are we gonna have closure and tell each other what went wrong?” she reasoned.
When committing into a relationship, she described herself as ‘sacrificial’ and is someone who will love, wholeheartedly.

“I am very sacrificial. Kapag mahal ko talaga, Dami ko nang nakakalimutan. That’s what gets me in trouble all the time, right?
“It’s not something that I am ashamed of. Pero masarap magmahal ng todo-todo, Tito Boy. Walang pagsisisi ako,” Julia said.
Recently this month, she got herself dragged in a James Reid and Nadine Lustre’s break up which was speculatively caused by a third party, Issa Pressman. Many netizens compared the cause of breakup similar to what happened between Gerald Anderson and Bea Alonzo.
Julia and Joshua or JoshLia rose as one of the popular loveteams in ABS-CBN since their pairing in 2017 via the movie Vince and Kath and James. The two had their last teleserye via Ngayon at Magpakailanman last year, however, rumors about their split came after Barretto worked with Anderson in the Blacksheep film Between Maybes.
The two are currently seen on the Star Cinema zombie film Block Z which premiered on January 27 and opened in regular theaters on Wednesday, January 29.
