- Barbie Forteza is grateful for her achievement.
- She believes that this made her an established actress of her generation.
Barbara ‘Barbie’ Forteza, 22, started showbiz in 2009 playing the young Jodi in the Korean Teleserye remake, Stairway to Heaven.
She appeared in several movies such as Tween Academy: Class 2012, The Road, and Puntodm an indie film for which she won as New Movie Actress of the year from the 26th PMPC Star Awards for Movies.
She also released her first self-titled album, Barbie Forteza, under MCA Records and her single, “Meron Ba” became the theme song for the Koreanovela, Big.
She got her big break in 2014 when she played the lead role in the television series, The Half Sisters with Thea Tolentino.
In August 2014, Barbie won the Best Supporting Actress award from the 10th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival for the film Mariquina.
She continued to work in projects like Dangwa (2015), That’s My Baby (2016), Meant to be (2017), My Love from the star (2017), Super Maam (2018), Inday will always love you (2018), Daddy’s gurl (2019), Kara Mia (2019), Love You Two (2019).
With her success in different series, GMA Network has called her their Kapuso Primetime Princess.
In an interview, the Kapuso actress was asked if she ever feels pressured about the tiltle she now holds. ‘Yung sampung taon ko na ‘yon, with GMA,” she replied.
I earned it, I worked hard for it,” she said.
“Endless gratitude. MARAMING SALAMAT PO. My heart is very happy. After a decade with GMA Network, I am finally proud to say that I AM the Kapuso Primetime Princess,” she captioned her Instagram post showing her gratitude.
