The tandem of Aga Muhlach and Xia Vigor in Miracle In Cell No. 7 seems to have ended the Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda’s annual dominance in the Metro Manila Film Festival box office since 2011.
From Christmas Day until the first two days of year 2020, moviegoers choose Aga’s movie over Vice’s The Mall The Merrier.
Columnist Ricky Lo verified this through an Instagram post. “Update as of 7PM Tuesday, Dec. 31 from an unimpeachable/reliable source. 1. Miracle (In Cell No. 7) P220M 2. The Mall (The Merrier) P213M 3. 3Pol (Trobol Huli Ka Balbon) P57M and 4. Mission (Unstapabol: The Don Identity) 51M stay tuned.”

Aga may not have won the Best Actor award, but to become the newest MMFF Box Office King is more than enough to prove that the Filipino adaptation of Miracle In Cell No.7 is definitely a worthy adaptation of the Korean original.
For the meantime, here are the moviegoers’ reactions to Miracle In Cell No. 7:
