Popoy and Basha was a phenomenal character in a movie “One More Chance” that became a household name. Played by box-office actors John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo on 2007, the story is about two couples who started their relationship during their college days.
They were inseparable for years that eventually lead people who loves them that they would get married someday. Popoy (John Lloyd) seems to be so sure about their future until Basha (Bea) had a change of heart. She decided to have their ways apart to give them a better opportunity to grow in their chosen career. Popoy struggled to live his new life alone. And when he moved on, they cross paths again.
Because of the success of the movie, and obviously a lot misses it, this romantic film is now a novel too. ABS-CBN Publishing decided to publish the book which leaves a question in the reader’s mind if Star Cinema is planning to create part two of this box-office movie. Especially when John Lloyd revealed that there is already a movie lined up for him and Bea.
Unfortunately, the second part of ‘One More Chance’ is not the movie they will do this year. John Lloyd said, it has yet to be confirmed and Star Cinema should be the one who needs to make a statement about it.
If ever that One More Chance have a continuation movie, John Lloyd is very willing to do the project again as long as the material is good. He is also requesting to depend the story of the generation now so more viewers can relate to the story again. And he is certain that his mother network can do that. It is just that Star Cinema’s Managing Director Malou Santos, together with ABS-CBN President Charo Santos-Concio has another story for John Lloyd-Bea love team.
One More Chance fans may leave hanging right now about what happen next to Popoy and Basha but who knows, with collective prayers and request, maybe the second chance we are waiting for will materialized in a few years time.
