After four years of entertaining audiences, GMA Network’s variety show Sunday PinaSaya will be saying goodbye after its last episode on December 22, 2019.
This was also confirmed by APT CEO Michael “Mike” Tuviera during his recent interview. With the show’s nearing end, many viewers are now curious about the show replacing it.
“Malungkot po siyempre kasi naging pamilya na po kami. That’s four and a half years, so we are very very thankful siyempre to GMA for the opportunity,” the APT CEO said.
In an interview with the press, Kapuso actress-singer Glaiza de Castro divulged that she will be part of a new variety show and an upcoming drama series.
“Meron akong gagawin na Sunday show. I feel excited. Comedy naman siya so habang may ginagawa akong heavy drama, may ginagawa akong comedy,” she told the press.
When asked for a confirmation,Glaiza said that it may likely be the replacement of Sunday PinaSaya.
She stated, “Hindi ko alam kung yun, kung pwedeng lang i-announce, pero malamang sa malamang.”
During its run, Sunday Pinasaya battled head-to-head with ABS-CBN’s musical variety show ASAP Natin ‘To. Tuviera described the show as “very historic” for having a unique genre distinct from any shows in the past.
Prior to Sunday Pinasaya, Sunday All Stars, Party Pilipinas, Party Pilipinas, and GMA Supershow aired in the same timeslot.
