BoybandPH member Joao Constancia denied breaking away from his group after doing solo projects.
Joao is part of the cast of Star Cinema’s latest film Unbreakable starring Bea Alonzo, Angelica Panganiban, and Richard Guttierez.
“Wala naman pong break sa amin sa BoybandPH. To be honest, the situation with us right now is there’s no disbandment, we’re still together,” said Joao.
Joao added that he really wanted to act and he’s thankful to be given the opportunity to explore that part of the entertainment industry.
“I guess, we’re just given the opportunity to go solo to explore our career path here in showbiz lalo na sa acting. Ako naman po, yon po naman talaga ang gusto ko, eh, ang umarte, so I guess the management and even the boys alam nila yon, and they support me with my dream. Matagal na po na gusto ko talagang mag-acting talaga. Masaya rin po sila sa akin and they’re very supportive talaga.” he added
Meanwhile, as a member of a boy band, he was asked about the emerging P-Pop group SB19.

SB19 is starting to gain popularity after entering Billboard’s Next Big Sound chart in the 6th spot. The group was also recently awarded Group of the Year at the 2019 RAWR Awards.
Asked if BoybandPH feels somehow threatened by the new P-Pop group, Joao said no, adding they are happy to see new groups in the industry.
“Hindi po. We’re not threatened. We’re actually happy na there’s another group in the industry. We’re happy to see that they’re also growing na rin po. It’s not a problem, there’s no issue naman with them,” he said.
He also added that he admired the work of the group and how they are being trained.
“To be honest, there’s no feud or problem with us. I love SB19 because I adore their hard work and preparation for their craft and talent, sobrang galing po nila.
“We also wish some time that we had the same training, you know, the process that they’ve gone through, but I guess we’re both different groups naman po talaga. So, there’s no issue with SB19 and with the disbandment, I guess it’s time na rin po for us to grow as an individual artist in the industry,” Joao explained.
