Pambansang Bae Alden Richards admitted that GMA Network’s The Gift is now struggling to beat its rival program, ABS-CBN’s Starla. But the actor made it a point that for as long as his series conveys a good message and gives life lessons to its viewers, they will still give their best shot no matter what happens to The Gift’s rating.
He said, “We have to admit that we really struggle, pero as long as we’re being able to deliver a good message naman through the story, yun naman talaga yung objective ng The Gift since we started e. Medyo malakas talaga yung kabila.”
During the press launch of McDonald’s Stripes Run 2019, Alden confessed that even the production team and his co-stars are doing their best to keep the show running and put forward their good intentions towards viewers, which even entails changing their scripts on the spot.
“We’re really doing our best, wala kaming humpay sa pagpapaganda ng istorya. Every taping, we see to it that lahat ng characters and people involved in the creative side have something to say about it. Even us actors, we change the script on the spot, if we feel our characters are not on the same page as the one on the script.”
The Gift cast was happy when kids in Bahay Bulilit Day Care Center called Alden as “Sep” which only shows that even children are interested in the show.
“Ganun yung ginagawa namin but masaya naman kami. We’re very happy with the result of The Gift and the effect of it sa mga tao and everyone who’s watching it. Parang we also cater to such audience na mga bata. That’s what the show is also keen on doing, parang to encourage young kids to be good people. So ayun, happy ako na tinawag akong Sep nung isang bata.”
During the last few episodes of ABS-CBN’s The General’s Daughter, Alden’s The Gift was able to enjoy two digits in TV ratings based on NUTAM.
