Maine Mendoza wasn’t able to hold back her emotions after reuniting with her sister.
On Tuesday, October 8, Maine guested on ABS-CBN’s Magandang Buhay with Carlo Aquino for the promotion of their film Isa Pa with Feelings.
During the interview, Maine was surprised by her sister Coleen whom she hasn’t seen in a while because of her busy schedule.
“Ang tagal na naming hindi nagkikita eh,” said Maine.
“Kasi sobrang busy niya sa work as in through message na lang. Ang tagal na naming hindi nagkikita,” Coleen responded.
Maine broke down in tears as her sister narrated how she missed her and recounted all the good things about the young actress.
“Kasi last time, sa kanya ako nag-vent nang nararamdaman ko. Basta ‘yung mga dinadala ko sa loob, ‘di ko napipigilan eh hindi rin kami sanay na as in nagsasabihan ng mga problema. So sa sobrang parang hindi ko na kinaya as in sa kanya ako nagsasabi, sa text lang. Tapos siya lang ‘yung nagsasabi sa akin na ‘kaya mo ‘yan, laban lang,” said Coleen
“Si Meng, very humble siya, mapagkumbaba,” Coleen added after she described Maine as someone who is not afraid to apologize and admit mistakes.
Maine started her career as a co-host in Eat Bulaga‘s Juan for All, All For Juan segment. The viewers were captured by the chemistry between her and another host Alden Richards which gave birth to the Kalyeserye love team AlDub.
With skyrocketing TV ratings and social media clout, AlDub became a pop culture phenomenon, propelling Maine and Alden to super stardom.
After the popularity of AlDub dwindled, the two decided to take a break from the love team and do separate projects. Alden did Star Cinema’s Hello, Love, Goodbye with Kathryn Bernardo which turned out to be a huge success.
Now it’s Maine’s turn to test the waters with Carlo Aquino in Black Sheep production’s Isa Pa with Feelings which is set to hit the cinemas on October 16.
Aside from Magandang Buhay, Maine also graced Tonight With Boy Abunda on Monday, October 7.
