Kapuso actress Arra San Agustin wasn’t able to hold back her tears during the press con of her new teledrama Madrasta.
Madrasta is San Agustin’s first-ever lead role in a TV series.
In her speech at the press con, San Agustin thanked God and everyone who helped her get the opportunity to star in her first teledrama as the lead star.
“Siyemre pasasalamatan ko si God kasi napakalaking biyaya, napakaling regalo nito,” she said.
“Yung GMA, si Ms. Lilibeth, Ms. Regie, Ms. Ali at yung bumubuo sa production namin,” she added.
She started breaking into tears after thanking her director who helped them in all their scenes.
“Maraming maraming salamat po sa lahat. Direk Monti of course salamat po sa pasensya. Salamat po dahil tinututukan niyo po kami maigi, yung bawat unit po namin. Hindi po kayo nagsasawa na sabihan po kami kung ano po yung mga dapat namin gawin,” said Arra.
Arra started her career as a finalist of GMA Netwok’s reality artista search StarStruck in 2015.
After her Starstuck stint, she landed bit roles in several Kapuso shows like Maynila, Magpakailanman, Karelasyon, Dear Uge, and Usapang Real Love Presents: Perfect Fit. In 2016, she joined the cast of GMA’s longest running gag show, Bubble Gang.
In the same year, she was cast in GMA’s fantaserye Encantadia as Ariana, the reincarnation of Amihan.
Before bagging her first lead role, she played a supporting role in GMA’s sci-fi series The Cure in 2018 and did a hosting stint for GMA Online show Taste MNL.
Madrasta will start airing on Monday, October 7.
