- Mang Kepweng is Ion’s debut film
It was in March of this year when “Kuya Escort” Ion Perez revealed that Vice Ganda is someone special in his life during a Gandang Gabi Vice episode featuring the cast of Eerie.
Months ago, Ion was spotted with Vice at the latter’s Vice Ganda: Ang Fantastic Concert ng Vaklang Twoooh! concert in Guam where the two were reportedly sweet towards each other.
Last July, ViceIon (as what their fans call their love team) might just have given a big hint about the real status of their relationship when Vice and Ion with their mothers, Rosario Viceral and Zeny Perez, together with a child relative made the rounds among fan pages.
On Tuesday, August 20, Ion denied being in a relationship with Vice Ganda.
On the sidelines of the story conference of his film debut Mang Kepweng with returning lead star Vhong Navarro, he was asked about the real score between himself and the comedy superstar.
“Hindi, sobrang malapit lang kami sa isa’t-isa. Kaya siguro nag-iisip ‘yung mga tao, ganoon ‘yung nagiging reaksyon nila, kasi sobrang malapit kami… Sobrang close. Close na close kami ni Vice. Hindi na siya iba sa akin,” he said.
Ion joined the noontime entertainment show It’s Showtime and started as Kuya Escort in the popular Miss Q&A segment. He and Vice Ganda have been the constant target of teasing by their co-hosts.
“Biru-biruan lang,” he insisted.
When reminded of the saying that “jokes are half meant,” Ion said, “Malay natin!”
Last month, Ion’s new tattoo, “03 31 1976,” went viral as it is Vice Ganda’s birth date.
