- Hashtags Wilbert Ross and Kid Yambao addressed rumors about their “competition” with the Bidaman finalists
- Bidaman recently gained more attention from viewers compared to the Hashtags
- Are the Hashtags members insecure of the popularity of the Bidaman finalists?
It’s Showtime Hashtags Wilbert Ross and Kid Yambao visited the Tonight With Boy Abunda studio last week and cleared up some rumors about their supposed competition with the Bidaman finalists.
Hashtags is an all-male dance group which joined the It’s Showtime cast on November 11, 2015. Former Pinoy Big Brother, housemate, Zeus Collins has served as choreographer and de facto leader of the group since its inception. They captured a lot of attention from viewers with their looks and electrifying performances.
But many have noticed that the dance group has been recently absent on the show since the Bidaman segment of It’s Showtime was introduced. Just weeks after the new contest was launched, the good-looking contestants became the new heartthrobs of the noontime show, seemingly snatching the spotlight away from the Hashtags.
They even became hot topics on social media.

During the interview, the two were presented a question coming from a netizen asking if the Hashtags members were insecure of the BidaMan winners since they’re now their ‘competitors’ in the noontime show.
But Kid explained:”Hindi naman. Lahat naman nangangarap so parang ganun din po yung ginawa sa amin ng Showtime at tsaka ng mga naunang Hashtags so tanggap lang din po kasi bawat isa may pangarap naman po.”
Wilbert also added that having newcomers on the show serves as their motivation to step up and become better in all aspects of their showmanship.
“Para sa akin Tito Boy parang bigyan natin ng chance ‘yung mga dreamers kasi dumaan din kami dun eh. So parang ok may bago..kailangan natin mas gumaling. Mas gumaling sa lahat ng aspeto. Parang motivation din sila Tito Boy”Wilbert said.
Wilbert’s first ever solo single since he joined the Hashtags was “Maaari Ba?” a breakup song. It is now streaming on all digital music streaming services nationwide. Aside from his single, Wilbert is also a part of the blockbuster film Hello, Love, Goodbye.
Meanwhile, Kid is set to star in his first teleserye Pamilya Ko alongside JM De Guzman and Arci Muñoz this September. Aside from his upcoming teleserye, Kid also promoted his movie with Yen Santos, Two Love You, coming soon in cinemas nationwide.
Apart from the two, several Hashtags members were also given opportunities to star in different teleseryes and movies including Vitto Marquez, Jameson Blake, McCoy de Leon, and Ronnie Alonte.
