- ‘MMK’s’ episode ‘Dyip’ tackles cultural and social differences in the pursuit of love
ABS-CBN’s longest-running drama anthology Maalaala Mo Kaya has hit another record high rating for 2019.
‘MMK’s’ record was first set by Maymay Entrata’s portrayal as Aeta beauty queen last March. Aside from more than 1 million tweets generated during the episode, the episode also got 30.6% rating while its rival show Magpakailanman only got 15.7%.
Maymay’s record was beaten by Joshua Garcia’s portrayal of Ian Paquit’s life story last June. Paquit was a soldier who died during the 2013 Zamboanga siege. The episode gained 30.8% ratings nationwide while its rival MPK story only got 14.6%.

Just last Saturday (August 17), the ‘MMK’ episode featuring the returning Kapamilya Rafael Rosell with Yen Santos dominated the trending topics on Twitter. It also recorded another high rating with 33.3% versus ‘MPK’s’ 12.4%.

‘MMK’ always gets high ratings in Kantar Media. In NUTAM People Ratings, ‘MMK’ also received 15.1% while Joyce Ching, Vivian Foz, and Ariosto Reyes Jr.’s ‘MPK’ episode only got 7.5%.
The MMK episode titled ‘Dyip’ is a story about Rodelyn (Yen Santos) and her Australian husband Vincent (Rafael Rosell) who overcame cultural differences from the very first kilig encounters they had, and how eventually they fell in love, before they actually settled down under.
