- James Reid has left Viva Artists Agency after seven years
- He backed out from the film Pedro Penduko due to a spinal injury
- His decision was brought by his suffering from burnout
James Reid is now leaving Viva Artists Agency after seven years. He was not also part of the VivaCon 2019 held at the World Trade Center last August 3 and 4.
The underlying reason for his decision was his hectic schedule from TV commercial shoots, leading him to be burned out. It was reported that the actor can longer accept offers and inquiries sent to him due to his full schedule.
Earlier this year, James dropped out of the Pedro Penduko movie due to his spinal injury. Spellbound, an adaptation of a Korean movie with his reel and real-life partner Nadine Lustre, was also put on hold.
There’s still no official statement yet from Viva Artists Agency regarding James but according to the news, James and Viva are okay and this is a mutual decision. James’s career will be handled by his father Robert Malcolm Reid.
James began acting professionally in the early 2010s after being named as the Big Winner of Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Clash of 2010. In 2012, he left Star Magic and signed with Viva Artists Agency.
It was in 2014 when his movie with Nadine titled Diary Ng Panget under Viva became a box office hit despite the lack of support from a major network. His tandem with Nadine known as JaDine officially joined ABS-CBN as exclusive talents in 2014. His movies under the production of Viva films also include Talk Back and You’re Dead (2014), Para sa Hopeless Romantic, Beauty and the Bestie (2015), This Time (2016), Never Not Love You, and Miss Granny (2018).
His very first teleserye with Nadine On The Wings Of Love became a hit in 2015. It was followed by the series Till I Met You in 2016.
James also released three studio albums, including his self-titled debut album James Reid (2013), Reid Alert (2015), and Palm Dreams (2017) which was his first self-produced album under his own label.
