Vice Ganda blends fantasy and comedy as Cinema One airs for the first time the 2018 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) blockbuster hit “Fantastica: The Prince, The Princess, and The Perya” this Sunday (August 11).
The film—top-billed by Vice Ganda with an ensemble cast consisting of Richard Gutierrez, Dingdong Dantes, Bela Padilla and Jaclyn Jose among others—revolves around struggling carnival proprietor Belat Padilla (Vice) and her companions’ undertaking to search for three princesses from the land of “Fantastica” who have been banished to Earth.
However, getting the royalties back to their homeland proves to be a difficult task when an unforeseen circumstance requires them to revive the carnival back to its prime days.
Will they be able to fulfill the deed and deliver entertainment to the masses once again?
The film marked the sixth consecutive entry of Vice Ganda to the annual festival.
As such, movie critic Oggs Cruz lauded the film for the Unkabogable Superstar’s unparalleled charisma on the big screen. “Fantastica meets expectations.
Vice Ganda remains to be a vibrant and enduring presence all throughout,” he said.
Meanwhile in another review, Julia Allende praised the movie’s venture into tackling the love between parents and kids.
“Its a reminder that deprivation of affection by a parent can cause great emotional damage and erosion of self-worth in their children,” she wrote.
The Barry Gonzalez-helmed film amassed the biggest box office revenue in last year’s MMFF.
It also stars Maymay Entrata, Edward Barbers, Kisses Delavin, Donny Pangilinan, Loisa Andalio and Ronnie Alonte.
Prepare for an exciting adventure and watch “Fantastica: The Prince, The Princess, and The Perya” on Cinema One’s Blockbuster Sunday this August 11 at 7PM.
