- He explained why he responded in such a way
- He is also looking forward to doing another film with Star Cinema
Alden Richards was tearful and thankful to Director Cathy Garcia-Molina for praising him during the press conference for the movie Hello, Love, Goodbye at the ABS-CBN compound on July 9, Tuesday.
“I have worked with so many actors na mababait at magagaling. Alden is one of them. Nu’ng sinabi nilang Alden [ang makakasama ni Kathryn Bernardo], sabi ko ‘Hmmm, mataba lang pero mukhang marunong umarte itong batang ito,” Director Cathy said drawing laughter from the crowd.
“Nagkamali ako. Hindi siya marunong. Magaling siya. At napakabait na tao,” she said.

These kind words moved Alden to tears and made him kneel down before the director to give her a tight hug.
After the press conference, Alden then shared with the reporters why he responded in an emotional way.
“Coming from direk Cathy, sobra akong na-move, natouch. Hindi ko akalain na ganu’n ’yung magiging effect ko kay direk while doing this film. Siguro ganu’n talaga, you just be yourself and let other people speak for you,” he said.
Is the actor open to doing more films with Star Cinema?
“Sana po. Kung meron man pong offer, hindi ko tatanggihan ’yan. Siyempre po, with the blessing pa rin po ng GMA kung papayagan pa rin po ako. Pero I’m still looking forward to doing films with Star Cinema and other production houses,” he said.
Kathryn Bernardo also responded in a similar way, saying she’s also open to exploring other opportunities with GMA Network if she will be permitted.
“Kung meron silang offer na swak and, of course, pinayagan ako ng Kapamilya network, why not? Basta daanin natin sa magandang usapan lahat. Like ’yung sa kanila, hindi siya naging mabilis. Tatrabahuhin talaga. But yeah, I am very open naman,” she said.
