- Edward Barber improved a lot since the day he started his showbiz career
- Maymay Entrata supported Edward through his ups and downs
- MayWard’s powerful chemistry have gone through enough from happy moments to bad moments
Being together as on-screen love team for almost three years, Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber have already been through a lot, to the point that one of them almost gave up. As one of the popular and in demand love teams in the Philippine entertainment industry, it’s inevitable for them to have bad days.
MayWard helped each other during these down times.
On April 30, during the ABS-CBN press conference of their newest weekend fantasy series, ‘Hiwaga ng Kambat,’ Maymay revealed that she saw a lot of improvements with Edward ever since they started with their showbiz career.
MayWard’s (as what their fans call them) popularity started inside the ‘Pinoy Big Brother 737’ in 2016. The on-screen love team played the lead roles for their first film ‘Loving in Tandem’ that was released in September 13, 2017 nationwide. Since then, they have been given a number of film and TV projects, as well as product endorsements.
Maymay revealed that Edward never had the empowered attitude that he now possesses today.
Maymay has been with Edward through ups and downs and that she personally was able to see how he grew.

“Saksi po ako kung paano siya nag-improve talaga. Kasi andiyan ako nung sobrang down na down na down siya. Sobrang halos sabihin niya na, ‘Ayoko na.’ Pero ngayon, nakita niyo naman kung gaano siya kapalaban, kaya sobrang proud na proud ako sa ‘yo,” she said.
During his five year in show business, Edward admitted that he started to lose faith.
“Especially at the beginning, yung first ASAP ko po, dun nagsimula. First ASAP dance prod, nagkamali ako. Since then, medyo bumaba ang self-confidence ko,” he said.
Edward added, “When you’re at the bottom, the only way you could go is up.”
Now, Edward is evidently one of the teen stars that make a buzz in the show business industry.
‘Hiwaga ng Kambat’ is airing every Sunday starting April 21, replacing ‘Wansapanatym’ that starred Edward Barber and Grae Fernandez.
