At a GMA Artist Center’s Blog-Con, Edgar Allan Guzman also known as EA Guzman shared that he had no issues in his past Network and how he gives premium on ratings.
Guzman, emphasized the importance of it and how it reflects the actor’s motivation when his work is appreciated by the audience.
“Ako para sa akin, importante ‘yun.”
For him, a show having poor ratings will serve as a challenge to any actor and has to put on extra effort in making it pick up; in return the audience will give credit to the said contribution.
“Hindi man ako bida, supporting cast lang ako, pero para sa akin, ratings is very important kasi dun natin makikita kung tinatanggap ba ng audience ang show mo. Siguro kung magkakaroon ako ng show at maiging bida sa isang teleserye, kung baga, magtetake over ako sa idea na gusto makita lagi ang ratings everyday kasi importante ‘yun. ‘Yun ‘yung bali mo para sa mga tao.”
During the Q and A portion, the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2017 Best Supporting Actor for ‘Deadma Walking,’ he was asked about his decision in shifting to Kapuso from Kapamilya network.
He stressed that as an actor, he will choose where there is work opportunity and to where he will be comfortable. He added that he is happy that he can do things he hasn’t done in his previous projects.
According to him, his switch was just the right timing because he was given challenging roles that tested his acting skills.
“Self-realization yung nangyari sakin. Di na ako pabata, tumatanda na rin ako. Gusto ko lang magtrabaho ng malinis, walang iisipin, para sakin…
“Gusto ko rin muna ng siguradong trabaho, siguradong buhay, kase nga, 29 na ako, ayoko na yung naglalaro lang. Para sakin this time, gusto ko naman magkaroon ng desisyon para sa sarili ko.”
The rumors about his girlfriend who influenced his decision to move to Kapuso network has no truth to it.
EA’s current show on GMA Network which is ‘Dragon Lady’ and he is Goldwyn Chen, a Chinese businessman and is the third on the relationship between Janine Gutierrez and Tom Rodriguez’s characters.
