- GMA Network’s ‘Sahaya’ got a lower rating on its second day compared to its pilot episode
- Angel Locsin’s ‘The General’s Daughter’ continued to be the leading drama show on its timeslot
- Both NUTAM and Kantar Media data showed ‘The General’s Daughter’ winning the ratings battle against ‘Sahaya’
GMA Network’s ‘Sahaya,’ which aims to capture the richness of Philippine indigenous culture through the humble life of Bianca Umalis’s lovely character, also trained the spotlight on the Badjao community. Their epic-drama series is also top-billed by young Kapuso leading actors Miguel Tan Felix and Migo Adecer.

The show’s NUTAM and Kantar Media ratings on its pilot day (March 18) show disappointing results.
According to NUTAM People Ratings, ‘Sahaya’ lost the ratings game against ‘The General’s Daughter’ as it earned only 10.2% while the latter had 12.6%. The new Kapuso series was lower by 2.4% on its pilot day in TV ratings.
Meanwhile in Kantar Media, ‘The General’s Daughter’ has remained on the top two most watched programs with a 34.0% national TV rating, which is an 18.1-point lead against new rival ‘Sahaya,’ which only earned only 15.9%.
The second-day-rating showed lower ratings based on NUTAM and Kantar Media’s overnight results.
The March 19 ratings from NUTAM recorded 10.0% of ‘Sahaya’ which is 0.2% lower compared to its pilot episode. Its rival show ‘The General Daughters’ got 12.7%, 0.1% higher compared to the previous day.
The Tuesday Kantar Media data released also showed ‘The General’s Daughter’ recording a 33.4% national TV rating, beating again new rival program ‘Sahaya’ that only scored 15.7%.
Even if the show managed to gain rave reviews via social media, still it didn’t help pull its ratings up. This is a one-of-a kind TV series and it really needs to be seen by a wider audience.
Let’s just hope and wait if ‘Sahaya’ will give ‘The General’s Daughter’ good competition.
I love how everyone is referring to AMAYA while sharing excitement over #SAHAYA. I believe that’s called a Legacy and Marian Rivera 👸🏼 was part of it ❤️👏🏻. Bianca Umali is now making history as well 👏🏻👏🏻

Needless to say, this epic serye is obviously one of the highest-budgeted primetime series ever produced by GMA Entertainment Group. First episode pa lang, mukhang pang-ilang linggong budget na ng iba. 😊#Sahaya

Programs like #Sahaya just uplifted @gmanetwork image 10 folds. These should be norms for TV series so kids can learn about the culture not about sex and young kids' relationships.

People love to make fun of GMA for making “stupid” teleseryes but they don’t give them the credit they deserve when they produce out-of-the-box and informative dramas like #Sahaya. Y’all just hate GMA and it shows 😩✊️
