Singer-songwriter Kitchie Nadal marries her long time Spanish boyfriend Carlos Lopez on last Thursday, February 26 in an autumn-inspired Christian ceremony in Hacienda Isabaella in Tagaytay City. In spite of the grand wedding of different celebrities since the year started, there is something unique in this wedding. The rock-and-roll bride wore a wedding gown that cost only P799.
So far, this might be the highlight of the event. It was also the personal choice of our “Same Ground” hitmaker. According to photographer Nina Sandejas, Kitchi said, “It was my first try and it fit me perfectly.” Wedding planner Chinkie Agregado posted on Facebook that the bride even did her make-up personally. The post was “My bride, Kitchie. Did her own make up & collaborated with her cousin who’s a make up artist just before she left for Tagaytay coming from her house in Makati. Arrived in the venue just a few hours before her ceremony, wore her wedding dress then got married. Kitchie, Ikaw ang pinaka rock & roll yet chill bride na kilala ko! Cheers!! Will post clearer & better pics soon.”
It was a mutual decision of the couple not to spend extravagant on the wedding as well as with the reception. “At the party, everyone pitched in their contributions to the decorations. Artist friends helped out with the floral arrangements and even painted ‘Carlos and Anna’ on a banner in the early afternoon that even the groom helped set up,” Sandejas shared.
Carlos Lopez work for an NGO which helps rebuild homes and livelihood in Bantayan Cebu City. Which may explain why they want to keep the wedding simple.
Sandejas pointed out, “God knows how many people Kitchie has helped, the organizations she takes parts in, the programs she organizes for kids. You’ll lose count on how many lives she’s enriched and it’s really funny how not that many people know about what she does.”
